Greetings from sunny Alamosa! No. 18 here still buzzing from my photo shoot a couple weeks ago! Well, it wasn’t just for me – all my co-workers like the dome cars, the Mardi Gras and Calumet Club cars, and the 1100 Diesel locomotive were there too. The Rio Grande Scenic Railroad put together one heck of a photo spectacular on August 22nd and it went so well, they’re already planning next year. If you missed it, don’t worry – visit the microsite dedicated to this year’s event so you can see the great shots, get a good idea of what’s in store for next year and tell us what you would like to see in your dream photography event!
There is, of course, still time to come visit me before summer ends too. Where does the time go? This past weekend I was excited to be on Great American Country with Storme Warren when he came to see Michael Martin Murphey perform at Fir. It was a huge turnout and will also be wonderful for Great Scenic Railway Journeys to be on site filming for their PBS programming. We may be winding down the season but there’s still a lot going on.
Tune in next week when I post about what I’m hearing for our ride to LaVeta for Oktoberfest and our enhanced Pumpkin Patch Train in October.
Happy Trails,
Old No. 18
