Alamosa, Colo. (Feb. 6, 2009) – Chocolate-covered strawberries, red roses and snuggling up with your favorite sweetheart make Valentine’s Day on the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad something to remember. The train’s special Valentine’s Day ride offers a new twist on the usual expensive candle-lit dinner letting sweetheart passengers enjoy a day of romancing the rails, Saturday, Feb. 14. The trips take place among a stunning backdrop of snow-capped mountain peaks, majestic views and open valleys of Southern Colorado. Onboard passengers are treated to plush seating in the dome cars for the standard ticket fare of $58 per person. An upgrade is available for $78 per person in the newly remodeled parlor car, featuring leather couches, revolving captain’s chairs, and a private observation deck. The Cupid package also includes appetizers, chocolate-covered strawberries and bar service. All couples receive a box of chocolates and a red rose upon departure.
